Challenging Role
Being a single parent is a challenging role especially with regards to finances. I want to give the best and prepare for my son’s future from which being just a teacher alone could not make it happen. That’s the reason why I am looking for ways on how I could have at least met our monthly needs. Needless to say I am living a life of a typical public school teacher.
How it all started
It was June 2017 when I first came across with a story of a freelancer from Cebu who was able to earn a lot by just working at home, that inspired me and gave me an idea on how could I earn more aside from teaching in a public school. I’ve read about Upwork where I tried to submit my profile but got disapproved. I did a lot of reading on how to enter freelancing industry but couldn’t find an answer. I have decided to enroll at a certain boot camp but it’s too costly for me so I needed to wait until November for my year-end bonus so I could pay for the coaching.
Meeting FVA
Talking with my online friends about my plan brought me to FVA, for one of them just finished her VA course with them. FVA or Filipino Virtual Assistance offers a very affordable amount for their coaching. I enrolled and started my online course with them on December 2017. I easily got my upwork profile approved, which was already an achievement. I have not finished my course yet and having a limited knowledge on computer and trending applications would not stop me from growing and learning. That is why, I am thankful to God for FVA and for the untiring support of our coach Grace Locsin.
Taking Baby Steps
For now, I am still at the other side of the road, and I have just made my first few steps, no one knows, maybe one day I am already on wheels in this journey.
